Annabel Du Boulay’s debut art installation will feature four large acrylic paintings depicting the different aspects of the archetype of the Mother. Each painting will reflect the relevant wounding of women associated with that archetypal energy. Weaving mythology together with the personal stories of women she is interviewing, Annabel’s intention is to create a sacred space where women can journey with their grief and find healing.
Mother of Loss – abortion, miscarriage, still-birth, loss of a child/mother
Mother of Solitude – infertility and childlessness
Mother of Healing – ill/disabled child and/or mother
Mother of Compassion – mothering children, caring for the mother, mothering in the community
Prints of the paintings will be available to view and buy on this website in August 2012, after which time it is hoped that the art installation will tour around the UK and abroad.
