After spending a very enjoyable evening on Monday giving a talk and book signing at Bath Positive Living Group, Annabel Du Boulay received the following review from the organiser, Vicky Edwards:

“Annabel was our guest speaker at Bath Positive Living Group on the evening of 23rd January 2012 with her talk, ‘The Serpent’s Tale: From Darkness to Light’. She gave a very memorable and touching account of her life so far – one that has provided some very big challenges to overcome – and how she gained strength from creatively transforming these difficulties into her book. Everybody that attended found it a very moving story – one that can truly inspire you to remember that even the most difficult circumstances in life can eventually be seen as positive and help us onward on our spiritual journey.”

‘The Serpent’s Tale: From Darkness to Light’ Talk & Book Signing

Bath Positive Living Group, 23 Jan 2012 7pm

www.bathplg.co.uk

Manvers Street Baptist Church, Manvers St, Bath BA1 1JW

Author and therapist Annabel Du Boulay shares the philosophy explored in her historical novel The Serpent’s Tale, which she developed during her recovery from depression and addiction, as well as the challenging experience of mothering two children born with life-threatening syndromes. This philosophy is based on the Myth of Sophia, which teaches us that darkness is not separate from light, and that it is within the darkest times of our lives, when we experience deep pain, loss and fear, that the light of rebirth can guide us towards greater wisdom, strength, love and compassion. It is a philosophy that helps us to accept and surrender to life’s challenges, trusting in ourselves and in life that every seemingly negative experience is an opportunity for us to heal, learn and grow. Following her talk, Annabel will lead the audience on a healing guided visualization to speak with the archetype of Wisdom-Sophia.

Annabel Du Boulay’s recent talk at Glastonbury Women’s Institute has been reviewed in The Central Somerset Gazette by Margaret Wynn (03.11.11):

“…our speaker, Annabel Du Boulay, a local resident and author who spoke most movingly about women and their particular problems, their strengths and responsibilities, and read aloud passages from her book The Serpent’s Tale. She was heard in complete silence, the members obviously deeply moved by her words. Pam gave a moving vote of thanks and our long and warm applause for Annabel’s talk showed how much she had touched the hearts of everyone present.”

The Healing Womb

an art installation by Annabel Du Boulay

The Miracles Room, Glastonbury Experience Courtyard, Glastonbury BA6 9DU

31 July – 5 August 2012

Annabel Du Boulay’s debut art installation will feature four large acrylic paintings depicting the different aspects of the archetype of the Mother. Each painting will reflect the relevant wounding of women associated with that archetypal energy. Weaving mythology together with the personal stories of women she is interviewing, Annabel’s intention is to create a sacred space where women can journey with their grief and find healing.

Mother of Loss – abortion, miscarriage, still-birth, loss of a child, loss of the mother

Mother of Solitude – infertility and childlessness

Mother of Healing – ill/disabled child and/or mother

Mother of Compassion – mothering children, caring for the mother, mothering in the community

Prints of the paintings will be available to view and buy on this website in August 2012, after which time it is hoped that the art installation will tour around the UK and abroad. If your organisation is interested in hosting the art installation, please contact us on 01823 457419 or alternatively please send us an email.
